Also, 2.5 percent is charged on the converted amount for transactions in a foreign currency along with the general MasterCard conversion rate. There is an additional fee of $5.00 on checks written to a commercial enterprise outside Canada. The HSBC Premier MasterCard includes travel and medical insurance. You can also opt for CreditCare Insurance which grants additional coverage.
